Family Crisis Center (FCC) invites the community to the “Healing – Through the Arts of Survivors and Allies” art exhibit & open house. The event will take place on June 2, 2023 from 3-7 p.m. MST at FCC (16 E Main St in Rexburg). There is no cost for admission.
The exhibit’s pieces are submitted by survivors and allies representing the three stages of healing – trauma, vulnerability and hope. Original artworks include poems, illustrations, mixed media and paintings that inspire and empower in any stage of healing or allyship. Anyone interested in submitting art may do so by contacting Chloe Aponte by May 26. All creative disciplines are encouraged to enter.
Past exhibit art pieces submitted by survivors and allies.
The center will also unveil a new interactive, bilingual mural painted by BYU-I students Abi Cedillo Soto, a sophomore studying Illustration, and Mario Mondragon Matus, a junior communications major. Their work pairs art and technology for an innovative virtual experience. The mural’s augmented reality filters will offer attendees a unique art experience to help raise awareness about abuse on social media platforms.
