Rexburg, ID
Release: Oct.11, 2021
For Immediate Release
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. In honor of this important month, Family Crisis Center has organized the 4th annual Purple Ribbon Run. The event will be held virtually, meaning participants will be able to run or walk one mile or 5K from any location. Participants are welcome to complete their walk or run at any time in October. They are also encouraged to share a picture or message on social media and be featured on Family Crisis Center’s social accounts.
The Purple Ribbon Run is an effort to raise domestic violence awareness. Although a physical community gathering is not possible for this event, participation will help reach victims and survivors of domestic violence and demonstrates they have both the support of the community and Family Crisis Center. Beyond this, the event helps destigmatize the topic of domestic violence, promotes open discussion of the issue, and brings the community together.
This year's event sponsors include Alphagraphics, Baby Swag, Broulim's, June's Place, Paul Mitchell the School Rexburg, and Rigby Fizz Bizz. All event participants will automatically be entered into a free raffle for prizes from our sponsors and Family Crisis Center.
